I'm watching Sarah Palin's interview with Sean Hannity right now. It's making me sick. He's just lobbing softballs at her and doing everything he can to make her look good. I came in late so I won't have comments on everything she said plus thing are moving along and I'm missing things, but here's what I have, blogging along...
He just asked her about why the Bush tax cuts are good for people. She said it would be good because then the wealth can reinvest it to make new business and jobs. Sure, that would be good... if that's what were happening. What's happening is fat cat CEOs are getting enormous salaries and bonuses for failing companies while the average worker, who allows them to make that money, gets squat. Or less.
Question: how did she take on her own party? Answer: She said "good old boy network" again... oh boy. She's a broken record, isn't she? Any bets she talks about how she said "thanks, but no thanks" to the Bridge to Nowhere?
(Is anyone watching this? I like how everything she says flashes with "Breaking News" at the bottom...)
Sorry, I missed her answer to that last question... moving on... I'll try to pay better attention now...
She says we need energy independence. Who doesn't think that?
Question about ANWR... why does she support oil drilling there? She think it will be good for the nation. And ANWR. How? I mean, I don't necessarily think this is a bad idea... oil drilling is much safer and cleaner these days and we could certainly use it, but how is that good for the ANWR? Don't think it is.
Of course, this is another thing that she's the opposite of McCain (earmarks, abortion, etc...)
Question about oil importing.... it's a National Security issue, prosperity... thinks the Senate is 'do nothing'...
Commercial now... this is really feeling like a Fox News, pro-conservative fluff piece... yikes!
Diana Degette comments on what she's seen so far (Obama supporter)... McCain has not always been a reformer. McCain has 59 lobbyists working for his campaign... yeah, that's reform! Says Obama tried to get through legislation for housing reform.. he saw the problem early. McCain fought it. McCain/Palin history shows advocacy of free market... which has lead to our current economy woes. Hannity's on now... says McCain knew about Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and proposed changes. Degette says it wouldn't reform them and continue the same system. Hannity's pointing out the evils of the Democrats now, he's apparently found one bad thing about Obama taking money from Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae and he KEEPS repeating it... Degette's pointing out the same thing about McCain taking money. Hannity's being rude and interrupting her... saying Obama was 2nd largest recipient of money from Fannie/Freddie... they're done.
Commercial. I've never watched Fox News before and, MAN, is it obviously biased... at least Hannity is. I don't feel that way watching CNN. I feel like they just point out the truth about things. Maybe I'm biased... I don't think so. I could be wrong, but I feally feel like CNN just says what's honest.
They're back with Karl Rove. There's a guy I trust! (rolling my eyes...) Thinks she was strong on energy, bi-partisanship and reform, and insights on relationship with McCain. Is that last thing really something to harp on? Oh well. Pointing out their different opinions on ANWR.
Hannity asking about attacks by Dems... about McCain saying fundamental of the economy are strong... saying Obama is panicked and inexperienced because he doesn't think the economy is strong. Is it? I don't think so. Rove says they're are challenges and questions Obama's credibility because they took McCain's words out of context and out of a longer statement about the economy. Isn't that what they did about the lipstick on a pig comment? Jeesh!
Hannity again, pointing out that Obama got 2nd most money from Freddie/Fannie again... Rove says there's one weakness in McCain/Palin on identifying the source of the economy problems. Started with Fred/Fan. He's explaining things about the mortgage crisis now.
Someone else now.. I assume this is Colmes (don't know his first name)... pointing out he doesn't understand how McCain and Palin are acting as reformers... Rove is pointing out some people who are helping Obama who I guess are people he thinks show Obama's not a reformer. Now arguing over who has more lobbyists on their campains... his name is Alan!...
Commercial again. Thank goodness for Colmes! Pointing out the hypocracy of the Republican campaign! I don't think Obama is perfect .. maybe I'm not hearing enough bad things about him, but when I do hear so many lies coming out of the Republicans, it's hard for me to feel much outrage over what may actually be true... when there's so much fiction, how do you separate out the facts?
They're back...
Colmes asking Rove about what McCain will do differently from Bush.... Rove says campaigns are about change. Saying opponents of Bush stopped legislation that would have prevented Fan/Fred... says Dems stopped it... now Hannity's pointing out bad people who are working for Obama... someone named Raines... apparently Palin's email address has been let out... Hannity's making a stance on it... seems rather pompous...
More commercials.
I hate when people are un-apologetically (is that a word) pro-Republican or pro-Democrat and can't point out fairly the fallacies of what they are saying or doing. I'd gladly point out anything wrong on either side, but this Hannity is obviously just so pro-McCain and cannot accept anything negative about him that I just can't stand it.
They're showing SNL clip now... that was funny.... Palin's thoughts on it... she watched it with the volume down but thought it was funny. How can she think it was funny without hearing it?
That's it for tonight. Part 2 of the interview is tomorrow night.
My thoughts? Honestly, she seemed much more prepared tonight and that doesn't surprise me. Hannity was asking her friendly questions about things she knows about. Plus I'm sure she was REALLY prepared for this after the fiasco of the ABC interview and Hannity was really taking it easier on her. He was obviously on her side and trying to make her look good. Have her sit down again with someone who's not so friendly to her again and where she doesn't get to prepare in advance. I bet she won't look so good again then. I can't wait until she debates Biden.
That's it for tonight. More tomorrow.

Of course Hannity is going to love Palin and McCain. The guy is ridiculious. He is the conservative version of Howard Stern. A shock jock of conservativeness. He lost all crediblity with me(not that he had much to begin with) back when Al Gore won the Noble Peace prize and he stated that America should boycott the Noble Peace Prize because a terrorist won it in 1994. Of course that terroist was Yasser Arafat who won the prize that year along with Shimon Peres(Foreign Minister of Israel) and Yitzhak RabinPrime Minister of Israel) for there efforts to CREATE PEACE in the Middle East.
Anyway, Hannity is an idiot that is trying to get ratings but pushing the extreme conservative agenda. I hope that most people don't take him to seriously just as most people don't take Bill Mahr too seriously. It's just entertainment. The true test of the candidates will be during the upcoming debates.
